Clay is such an amazing medium. This course will introduce you to the basic handbuilding methods & once you get those sorted you can make just about anything. We will start with some basic animal sculpture, working in the round, on an easy to manage scale & I will show you the tricks of the trade to create professional results. Once you have completed this you can move on to explore other subject matter, ceramics from a period in history or something of your choice.

Fun warm up activities & then some different approaches to painting using your powers of observation. We will be using the experience of the painting masters like Matisse, Dufy, O’Keefe & others to help you ease into painting & learn some basic colour theory to help you mix paint. Learn the basics for monoprinting, collagraphy, relief printing using scratchfoam & lino as well as basic etching. Fun warm up activities & then a series of tasks exploring each of the media areas. Great class for those not really sure what media area they might prefer. Learn the basics techniques for each area.
