16. ANIMAL PORTRAITS, 8-12yrs, 1.30pm-4.30pm, Wednesday 21st January, 2026

Animal Portraits is a watercolour workshop using these very well dressed cute animals as our subjects.

We will use highly pigmented watercolours which will make the process easier & the colours more intense.

Kids will learn tricks to help get the proportion right, learn about drawing the negative space to help draw the subject & drawing the contour.

We will draw up a final copy in preparation for painting with the help of the lightbox.

Watercolour requires quick application without too much fiddling for the best results.

Techniques will be demonstrated, colour theory introduced & the importance of contrast  for a successful artwork will be highlighted.
