This workshop will explore the magic of mixing materials & methods. We will look at the work of German artist Eva Kalien for inspiration. Mixed media combines drawing, painting, collage, stamping, printmaking & text. It’s a great way to practise your visual art principles like balance, movement, pattern & contrast. Kids will begin with a drawing & will learn how to use techniques like negative space, sighting, identifying basic shapes to lay in their drawing. After sketching the main image we will create a background using a range of materials & methods including layering & design elements to create the finished piece. We will use materials that you have at home, pencils, old papers or catalogues, crayons & ink. So lets get creative!!
