Our Kids Term Art Classes run in alignment with the school terms. The terms are 8 weeks long & kids attend once per week for 1.5 hours, making a 12 hour term in total.
Every term starts with Drawing Challenges. What is that you ask? Silly, kooky, whimsical stories cooked up to entertain & amuse. Kids create a drawing to illustrate said stories. The results are always amazing & everyone wants to see everybody else’s drawings. A great conversation starter. Fabulous exercise for your imagination. And a really fun ice breaker so we can all get to know each other.
We love teaching skills, so no matter what we’re making, it’s all about skills. And skills build confidence & things just get better from there. Kids are encouraged to do for themselves what they can, ask for help when they need it. Activities are designed by Kidz Artworx & presented to suit each persons needs so they are fun, challenging & kids are always learning new stuff!
Inspiration for the activities comes from contemporary artists, designers & illustrators. Things that are interesting to kids & provide a platform to teach them skills, artmaking processes, different approaches, with success. Every task starts with drawing, the fundamental building block & we go from there.
After the lesson gets underway, everyone gets one on one assistance as needed & having a maximum of 10 kids creates a super environment for learning.
Term classes are suitable for all levels including beginners to more advanced students, & no matter what your experience, we will help you to widen & sharpen your skills. All the art materials are provided.
