28. COLOURFUL DESIGNS IN PASTEL, 5-12yrs, Friday 9.30am-12.30pm, 30th January, 2026
This is an oil pastel workshop, often called painting because it is quite similar in many ways. Kids will draw, outline & colour by layering oil pastels to create an A3 artwork.
Colourful Designs in Pastel is a workshop based on Helen Dardik, an illustrator who creates amazing drawings and uses wonderful colour schemes.
Kids will learn how to draw up for the pastel drawing, enlarge it to A3 size, transfer it to the cartridge & then the process of a pastel painting.
We will cover colour mixing by layering, some colour theory, oil pastels mix like paint, as well as how to paint a graduated background with ink.
Kids will start by choosing their favourite one to enlarge, transfer it onto a A3 paper, draw the outlines & then complete the pastel painting.
The final artwork will be bold & bright!
